  • DAY1The famous Golden Circle route

Your 3-day tour of the Golden Circle and the South Coast starts with the famous Golden Circle: Thingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss. Thingvellir National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the historic seat of Iceland's parliament, Alþingi. Founded in 930 AD, the Parliament is the oldest continuously operating parliament in the world and is located in one of the most geologically fascinating places on Earth.

Thingvellir National Park is home to a rift valley between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. Stand atop the Law Rock, where the orator of Parliament, the Speaker of the Law, will deliver his speech. The cliffs overlook Lake Þingvallavatn, a very beautiful lake that sits in this incredible landscape.

Next, you will visit the Geysir Geothermal Area, a geothermal wonder. Geysir was once a magnificent geysir, hence the name Geysir. Although now dormant, its neighbor Stoker is always a delight. You don't have to wait more than a few minutes to see Strokkur spewing scalding water into the sky, leaping up to 25 meters high.

Finally, we stop at Gullfoss, the most popular waterfall in Iceland. Witness the mighty Weta River (" White River ") roar down a two-tiered cliff into the rugged canyon below. The power of the falls and the beauty of the golden mist around them are breathtaking.

After the Golden Circle, we continue south. When the weather is clear, we will enjoy the beauty of Hekla Mountain on our way to Seljalandsfoss, one of the most unusual waterfalls in the world. You can walk behind these beautiful waterfalls and enjoy the views on both sides.

Your overnight hotel will be close to the small town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, which, if conditions are right, is a great base for catching the fascinating Northern lights in September and April. A little luck goes a long way when it comes to auroras!

  • DAY2Jokulsarlon and ice cave adventure

In the morning, we head east to the magnificent Jokulsarlon and the nearby Diamond Beach. The lagoon is filled with icebergs of all shapes and sizes that glide in dreamy fashion toward the waves of the Aral Sea in the Atlantic Ocean. The multifaceted colors are caused by a number of factors, including the compression of the ice. Many of them washed up on diamond beaches, where they glistened like diamonds on the black sand. There's nothing like a walk on the beach, the sun beating down on the beach and illuminated by the bright blue tones of icebergs. Marine birds are abundant, and if you're lucky, you might spot playful seals. Your hotel tonight will be located in the Skálafell area, which is another great base from which to test your Northern Lights luck if you travel between September and April! From the Jokulsarlon, we head to Skaftafell  Nature Reserve for a new adventure. From October to April, we will join certified glacier guides and step into the fascinating world of Vatnajokull. After completing a beautiful glacier hike, we will enter a natural ice cave where you will have some time to explore and take photos. Photographers will have a rare opportunity to capture the mysterious blue light that passes through the glacier. During your adventure, expert guides will explain the process by which these glacial ice forms. From May to September, we will take a tour of the Katla Ice Cave, the only natural ice cave near Vik that can be visited all year round. The ice caves we visit will be selected according to the current conditions. Including ice cave and glacier hike exploration, we will spend about two hours on the ice. This tour is suitable for people who can comfortably walk for about 2 hours on easy outdoor terrain. The ice cave temperature is well below freezing, so don't forget to wear warm clothes.

  • DAY3South Coast sightseeing

After a nutritious breakfast, we will start the day with a slow drive to Reykjavik with many stops along the way. If the road is clear, we will take a quick detour to Fjardðrargljufur Canyon to start the day. Next, we will have the opportunity to visit the iconic Eldhraun lava fields before heading to the Reynisfjara Black Beach. This is where the Atlantic waves really show their power. Watch these growling, white-tipped beauties plunge into the black beach. Be warned, the waves here can be unpredictable! Always follow the guide's advice.

Before leaving the beach, you should enter the black basalt cave. Reynisfjara is famous for its basalt columns near its coast, known as Reynisdrangar. Gaze up at these striking black pillars and you'll get a good idea of the origins of Icelandic troll folklore!

After leaving Reynisfjara, our next stop will be to visit Skogafoss, an impressive waterfall that drops 60 m into the serene pool below. There are 527 steps to the summit, but it's worth climbing the steep slope just for the panoramic view. The famous Eyjafjallajokull volcano lurks high above the falls, so if visibility is good, you will be able to catch a glimpse of this magnificent mountain glacier.

After enjoying the last stop of Skogafoss, your three-day tour of the south coast of Iceland is over. We will return to Reykjavik between 16:00 and 19:00 depending on weather conditions.
