St. Anne's Church

维尔纽斯 ,Lithuania

St. Anne's Church is located on Crakowskie Przedmiescie, the highest slope of the Vistula River and the most beautiful place in Warsaw. It was built by Princess Anne of Mazowsze and her son Bolesław IV in 1454 for the priests of the Bernardine sect. In 1515 and 1657, the church was hit by fire and only the Gothic chancel part is the earliest building. The most worth visiting is the all-golden Baroque design and furnishings inside the church, full of famous paintings from the 1740s, crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, and carvings and holy images wrapped in gold foil, making the whole church shining brightly.

Beside St. Anne's Church stands the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Passau completed in 1683. This is also a sculpture that was not affected by the great turmoil in Poland. The statue holds the baby Jesus in its hands, exuding a kind of loving radiance, which is very touching.
